German manufacturer's subcompact electric i3 and i8 plug-in hybrid supercar has stimulated our appetites wqzxc and now BMW has announced a further addition to the range, in the form of i8 Spyder. 2015 BMW i8 Spyder is set to make its official debut at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show later this month.

The rest of the styling remains as striking as the previous vehicle though, wqzxc this show is one of the concepts that have made it to production virtually unscathed. Details of the roof mechanism is not clear yet, although one piece detachable panel - likely made of carbon fiber - is rumored.

Like the i8 coupe, the Spyder will use the all-wheel drive, plug-in hybrid. A 3-cylinder wqzxc turbocharged gasoline engine 1.5-liter delivers up to 220 horsepower to the rear wheels, while the front wheel is powered by an electric motor 129-horsepower.
