From the spy shots, that last factor is very likely at least seen. Measuring body roll in the photo, Range Rover Sport RS also looks to be a little stiffer than the high-po sports before. Other details are visible in the photo, including a new, lower front bumper with larger air intakes and a larger rear spoiler.
While the name is uncertain, the plan does not appear to be: put even more power and sharper handling for the new Range Rover Sport package and see what can be done. With £ 800 less on board and chassis enhanced, pretty much should be possible.
Previous reports have compared the possibility of super-performance Range Rover Sport for the Jaguar XKR-S - adding a formula in a logical, incremental steps.
